'I remember riding up the escalator in Chinook Centre to Bob Ingles Music. It was 1966 and I was 12 years old so, of course, Paul McCartney was my bass guitar hero. I purchased a Pyramid Beatle bass copy for $110.00. I really didn't have a clue what a bass player's function was in a band but no matter. If Paul played bass then I was going to do the same. That's how it all started.'
