"Gunn" - Jim Irwin
     Bass

I remember riding up the escalator in Chinook Centre to Bob Ingles Music. It was 1966 and I was 12 years old, so of course Paul McCartney was my bass guitar hero. He played bass, then I was going to do the same. That's how it all started.

Over the years Jim has had the opportunity to tour and share the concert stage with Chicago blues legend Willie Dixon, Flash Cadillac, Redbone, Chilliwack, Crowbar, Ian Tyson and Kiss, just to name a few.

Jim has played with Canadian composers/guitar greats including Gaye Delorme, Brent Saklofske, Greg Gunhold and Bobby Stewart. Other composers he has worked with over the years include Mike Reno, Richard Harrow, Colleen Eccleston, Ray Griff and Gerry Madigan.

‘Playing bass for the Gunn Blues Band is an incredible pleasure. Every time we play together I feel so blessed to be able to make terrific music with such extraordinarily talented musicians and friends.’
